Points to note:
Extended opening hours Tuesday and Thursday, closed Monday.
The National Archive can be chaotic over the summer, so make sure you have your seat, along with your documents, reserved as far in advance as possible.
There are plenty of nice B&B's in the vicinity of the Archives, but these can fill up during busy season. Alternatives can be found in West London and the Richmond area.
There is a coffee shop inside, but if you want a bit of a selection, you can walk towards Kew Gardens station where there are a few more options for eating.
